Small Victories

We've had a few more small victories over the weekend.  Normally these things wouldn't be even worth mentioning but when you are challenged daily with food issues the small things become big things.  We've add yet another food to the list.  What is it you ask?  Green Beans.  He was a little reluctant at first but he's warmed up to it.  So we are up to 5 foods now!!!!
So what's the other victory?  Mason took an ounce of formula this morning!!  Again he is still just chewing on the bottle but I'm still hopeful that he will soon get the hang of it.
We have 9 more days until his allergist appt and I'm full of questions.  It seems that more and more labeling is focused on Gluten Free and not so much wheat free.  One of my many questions is the distinction between the two.  I'm anticipating that we will also be carrying yet another set of Epipens for precaution.  I'm thinking about rotating when the prescriptions will expire.  Right now Tyson and Kaitlyn are on the same cycle since we got theirs at the same time.  I'm thinking that spacing them every four months might be better.  (Ok so that was just a ramble of me thinking will typing.)

In other news this weeks focus is to find a PreK program Tyson.  The elementary school that Adrianna goes to is not peanut/ tree nut free.  In fact they quite often sever PB&J and use peanuts in school treats and projects.  Adrianna knows when she gets home she has to change clothes and wash her hands.  Although it would be easier to have them both at the same school I just can't do it.  Erick and I would be a huge ball of nerves all day.  Not to mention I'm not to happy about their "policy" when it comes to lunch.  The school nurse said that they don't have a "safe" table and if his allergy is that sever (which it is) that he would have to eat lunch in an office alone.  NOPE, not gonna happen.  Tyson has the right to eat lunch safely with everyone else. Period
So with that being said I'm off to research and call schools.  Laundry is gonna have to take a back seat today....
